OST Arts Program Evaluation
- Client: The Forbes Funds, Pittsburgh, PA
- Project Role:Project Manager
- Project Duration:December 2008 - July 2012
Accountability is a common word in the vocabulary of nonprofits. Funders are increasingly requiring organizations to demonstrate the efficient and effective delivery of services. Successful organizations are implementing self-evaluation practices into their day-to-day routines, then incorporating these practices into a continual process of self-improvement.
In Pittsburgh PA, the Forbes Funds identified a need for improvement of the service delivery models of afterschool providers in the area. From 2008 – 2012, Mr. Weidemann worked closely with 8 community-based afterschool providers to implement a capacity-building model for enhanced data collection and program evaluation. Rondout Consulting guided the cohort during all phases of evaluation, allowing the programs to develop tools needed to demonstrate accountability to their funders while gaining knowledge necessary for implementing self-evaluation practices without future need of outside consultants.
Building upon the work completed during the after school program evaluation, Rondout Consutling also developed the After School Performance Management Framework to be used during the implementation of an expanded pilot program throughout the region. This parallel effort can be used as a guide for any afterschool program building self-evaluation practices into their core competencies.
