Government Restructuring
- Client: Village of Saranac Lake and Town of Harrietstown
- Project Role:Project Manager
- Project Duration:May 2009 – December 2010
Mr. Weidemann supported a committee of residents and local officials through a year-long study of municipal restructuring options. The study involved a detailed review of all available municipal structures, including City, Village, Town, and Coterminous Town/Village options, as well as the various fiscal and non-fiscal impacts associated with each option. Mr. Weidemann’s analysis was integral in the committee’s decision to recommend the creation of a new City of Saranac Lake, which, if implemented, would be the first new city in New York State in over 50 years.
